your lies stand cold
It’s the dryness of summer air
It feels like you’re breathing hot sand
It’s a storm that turns you blind
So you can’t find strength to stand
Close your eyes
And feel what you see
That way when you wake
A smile might come free
You stand and you stumble
As you fall to the floor
You realise that
You were better off before
Act like it’s all a lie
Don’t let yourself know
Pretend you don’t mean it
Don’t let the truth go
Sit in a chair
Stiff, with four legs
It’s hard and it’s solid
Like a cold concrete bed
Think silently to yourself
As you sit in your aspired sanity
Is this really what you wanted,
Desired by all humanity?
