Bits and Pieces MAG
1: Small puzzle shards, rearrange myself,
Treading the shadow of everyone else
Playing pretend.
Put me to sleep when it comes to the end.
2: How invisible: every step that you take
Means no more than each movement you make.
It is the world, and then it is you.
1: Turn up the volume and breathe in the dust
Or live it all slowly and let myself rust?
I mean nothing to the eye of the earth,
Yet nearby you, your internal waves
Are swiftly, sightlessly, calling their birth,
Breaking off of the endless surf.
2: And the bits and pieces lie on the floor,
Mouthing the name that makes them yours.
Remedy their severed ties.
Seek for truth where pain resides.
1: Though all the parts fit, all is not well
Dreading the torment of what we've felt,
Playing pretend.
Each thread of the past is Heaven sent.
How natural, that each person one loves
Means everything, and is more than enough
To silence the world, and then it is you
2: And your bits and pieces that lie on the floor,
Mouthing the name that makes them yours
Remedy their severed ties.
Recall what made you civilized.
1: Render ourselves so worthlessly
While we weave each hour into tapestries.
It is the world, and then it is you.
A black golden glow of understanding
That someone like me could fly without wings.
The blank stability a simple friend brings.
Remedy their severed ties.
2: Someday you will materialize.
