They Can't Stop Me
Tape over my mouth and wrists behind my back,
No more speaking,
No more scribing.
They tell me,
This is what you get,
For saying what you thought.
Jaw clamped shut and fingers locked together,
No more shouting,
No more writing - not now, not ever.
They tell me,
This is what we want,
We don't care about what you think you've got.
Voice put in a jar, hands taken away,
No words.
No noise.
No say.
They tell me,
This is how it is,
Don't put up a fight because this is the end.
But I know better,
I know they are scared,
And I know they lie,
Unfortunately for them,
I have got a mind.
They can't stop me,
Though I'd like to see them try.
