"Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a dream?" - Edgar Allan Poe

Graphite Bridges
Sunflowers in my eyes,
You've told me once or twice.
Golden rays against an iris lined with green,
Glossy, depicting fields of yellow so serene.
Liquid glass begins to fall.
A meaning so big from tears so small,
Saline drips and forms a sea
On pages and pages filled with poetry.
I am the keeper of the gate
Holding tight to these words' fate.
Let down my guard, and all will see
These words paint an image of the real me.
Spilling out from notebooks filled
Over graphite bridges that have taken me years to build,
I'll keep these lined pages safe and neat
Till death do us part under lock and key.

The imagery and use of words are excellent, and the rhyming in this poem was superb.  Awesome.
