Able To Walk Away
Listen to the heartbeat of pulsating wind,
it rustles through the leaves as it passes.
Look at the trees as they turn to ashes
and the red of fire grabs their branches.
Surrounded by the flames, no escape, no entry
just waiting for the rain to kill the heat.
And as the rain with the icy touch
pelts the roar of destruction,
I walk home, leaving it all behind.
