The Collapse of the Craved
I started shaking at the touch of our lips,
You didn’t ever really feel the kiss.
Tears spill for you, as I hold onto your black cotton,
But for you, the white velvet petals are all forgotten.
I lay on shingles, trying to find a light,
Betting you are too, holding someone else tight
I think of today and all its dawdling,
And yours was probably, well, astonishing.
I fell,
You rose.
And, yeah, I know,
The wanted will never be loved.
