Happy is Christmas
Happy is spending the holidays with my family,
And watching Christmas specials on TV.
Seeing the Christmas tree lights twinkle,
Making the presents beneath it sparkle.
Happy is sipping hot cocoa by the fire,
After stamping foot print by foot print in the freshly fallen snow.
Happy is believing in Santa
And hurrying to bed.
Happy is dreaming about what he’ll bring me
And hearing his “Ho Ho Ho!” at five in the morning.
Happy is Christmas morning,
Opening presents with my family.
Different shades of greens, blues, and reds,
Scattered all across the floor.
Happy is watching the tree twinkle
While pancakes and hot chocolate’s being made.
Snapping pictures of my family,
The four of us together.
Happy is taking down the tree
And all the colorful ornaments.
Throwing away all the ripped wrapping paper
And listening to the last few hours of Christmas music playing on the radio,
Bringing a tear to my eye.
Happy is all the joy and fun of this holiday season
And knowing it will come again next year;
My family and I, happy.
