She Was Immortal
He was alone in this world
Not a reason to exist
Dark thoughts
Filled with hate
For himself and his kind
Until she came along
Unsteady but sure
She was different
That was the issue
It could mean death
A danger to both
But what’s done was done
A newly found love
A passion that raged
Like the fire that once burned him
Two souls side by side
One heart racing the other
That has been long since stopped
Reawakened by the sound of her voice
The blush in her cheeks
By the smell of her skin
An emotional hurricane
With a potential to destroy
All in its path
She smelled too sweet
His throat set on fire
He thirsted just for her
Yet she wasn’t afraid
It was the lion
Who resisted the lamb
The beauty that thought himself the beast
Desire meet consequences
Temptation meet justice
It could never end happily
Or so we thought
There’s only one way to solve this
There would still be two souls
But no heartbeat
What would she choose
This life of forever
Where nothing could do her harm
Or the life of the living
With blood in her veins
She didn’t need to think
She simply knew
So she told him her decision
That she loved him
And would have forever
And forever
To love him even more
And so it was done
She was immortal.
