picture perfect
Once upon a night of light
A shadow of eternal bright
A shiver and a dash of fright
I waited for your peace
Your face, your daze, your mastered ways
Your eyes distract me from your gaze
Your words a true and tattered maze
I watch you as you film
Once upon a mountaintop
A painted background, muslin drop
A camera with a shutter stopped
By duct tape and disease.
Your hands all nimble and content
Your body still, relaxed not bent
Your lack of words don’t even dent
My vision of your view
The sunset closes as you sit
Your chin upon your knitted mitt
You close the lens, don’t keep it lit
You finally see my watching
Your eyes do pause, your feet give cause
To all the dreams I had because
They’re slowly inching towards me
As the light is fading out.
