The Library Book
Jane received a letter in the mail
She wondered what it could be
She opened it up and gasped
“Why me, Why me?”
The letter held
A $5000 fine
For a late library book
She had back in ‘69
She searched her house,
All the attic boxes,
Fido’s toy bin
Looking for
“Minnie and Mickey Mouse.”
She could not find it,
Nor could she pay
So that day
So she robbed a bank
And grabbed all the money she could take
She got caught
And thrown in jail
Handcuffs on her arms
She forgot
They had alarms
And her son came in
He looked like he would choke
He said “mom,”
The letter was an April Fools joke!
