Three Wishes
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
Would one be for prince charming upon bended knee?
A dinosaur or a magic wand?
Fame or a twenty year old blonde?
Would you wish for someone to be raised from the dead,
Or maybe to take back something you said?
Would you wish for more wishes or be content with just three?
Would you end hunger or create world peace?
Would you wish for just one more breath?
Or to leave a legacy that no man could best?
Would you wish for immortality and power like the gods?
Or to lose twenty pounds and have a god-like bod?
Would you wish for the unwishable, the stuff we dare not dream?
To vanish like a ghost and forever remain unseen?
Would it be to fall in love with everyone you meet?
Or for just one more goodnight kiss on the cheek?
Would you wish for love to find you at your very best?
Or just to get those thoughts off your chest?
Or maybe you are like me and you would wish for someone else.
That they might get what they need, in spite of yourself.
That they might find true happiness in everything they do,
That they love their life just as much as you.
That they look at everything and find beauty in life,
That they treat each and every moment like their last night.
That they wake up everyday and thank God to be alive,
That they have the courage to break down and cry.
That they can love and can breath as long as they wish,
That they realize that there are always other fish.
That they realize that you care more than they could ever know,
That they know that they are with you wherever you may go.
Three wishes is a pretty small amount,
When it is things you wish that you begin to count.
So maybe that’s just God way of letting us know,
That he will take care of what’s going on down below.
So If I had three wishes, and just one world to mend.
I would throw them out the window and smile till the end.
