Fearless
Mother and daughter asleep upstairs
deep in dreams and unawares
of the robber, down below
heartbeat quick, yet breathing slow
Through the garden, he had crept
At silence, he was most adept
The window was a perfect entry
There was no dog or pesky sentry
The robber hardly touched the floor
As he padded towards a door
He oiled the hinge to stop the squeak
And opened the door and took a peak-
“Stop right there!” cried a voice in the night
There was a pause, then on came a light
Frozen with fear, the thief made no sound
Until he saw a teddy and nightgown
She held a wand forged from plastic
And on her head, held with elastic
Was a crown- she had no fear!
What could go wring with teddy here?
