War Of Salt River MAG
i wanted to cry
so badly
my sides began to ache.
my eyes blazed fire.
from out of a corner
a ghostlike mallet
pounded on my head.
my whole body shivered
as i fought
what seemed like a never-ending battle
against the salt-river
in my eyes
and when i finally succeeded
i was cold and tired.
i had won - yet i had no peace of mind,
no glory, no sense of victory.
instead i lay dejected on the ground.
the black holes of my eyes
(which, shortly before,
had sucked up life like a vacuum)
steadily remained large,
and my skin turned to leather.
