Rosaries MAG
I keep these rosaries under my pillow
the same way I did as a child,
placed there for protection.
They have become my security.
Despite my doubts,
Despite my sins,
Each occasion gaining another pair;
Every year marked off
by another set of prayers.
Communion, Confirmation, Sweet 16;
The pile has grown.
I have grown.
They've formed a mound of beads
beneath my pillow
just below my neck.
Now I wonder why I have trouble sleeping.
