THE STAR-PARENT
Look! Through my bedroom window you can see her.
There she is looking bright
The brightest star in the sky tonight.
Up above and way up high
Exists a friend beyond the sky.
Although, she lives among the stars
She never seems so very far.
Never distant
But never near
I listen to her whispers in my ear.
She is my friend
A lady that I truly can not comprehend!
Listen... can you hear it...
Her distant and transparent spirit?
She looks quite plain and seems rather ordinary
But really she is rather quite extraordinary.
Black pulled back hair.
Skin light, white and fair.
Blue coat with silver buttons down the front.
Always says what's on her mind always blunt.
Black straw hat with flowers gracefully upon her head.
Always makes sure I'm in time for bed.
Nose up high- prim and proper, plain, and vain
If you didn't know her you'd say I was insane!
White gloves- always clean
Shoes polished always gleam.
Her umbrella propped up for all to see.
She sings such songs that charm the bees!
All animals are her friend.
She speaks to them a quiet language impossible to pretend.
Intelligent beyond compare.
Always fitting.
Always right.
Often time gives you a fright.
She has dinner with the Sheiks.
Blue sapphire eyes and rosy cheeks.
Kings, Queens and God's she has entertained
These are just some relationships she has maintained.
Proper and Polite
Never rude and ALWAYS right!
Manners matter that's her game
Now be silent no more chatter!
She often times can give you a frightening look
One that makes you quiver and feel ashook.
She can fly and float effortlessly through midair
But don't get to playful remember yourself now! Do beware.
The most inanimate objects become quite fun
They take on life forces of their own and sometimes make you run.
Always caring and very overbearing.
Respectful and never neglectful.
Plays games all sorts.
There behind you with support.
Firm but kind.
Can even hear the thoughts inside your mind.
Can indirectly make you think, make you learn.
Question yourself and makes you change.
Teaches you something on a greater turn.
She forces you to come out- to think- be clear- and see
The universe’s mystic powers and its mystery.
Simple and gray but always checks the mirror.
With her around you see much clearer.
Never stand up to her you will always fail
Last time she got so mad befell a gale!
Always right, always fair.
Practically Perfect- and always there!
She is my best friend.
Even though she can seem quite scary, quick tempered, and ready to correct
She always says something to my better effect.
She is earth, air, fire, and water.
She will never tire.
She has come from the dark where all things have their beginning
A place where magical things are always grinning.
She comes from the sea and its tides.
She comes from the stars and its skies.
She comes from the sun and it's brightness.
She comes from the moon and its gleaming moon light.
What a sight!
She comes from the forest and the earth.
She was there when I was birthed.
Slowly I moved at first. It was her I saw before my parents.
While I was still sleeping and dreaming, I remember all I had been
And I thought of all I shall be.
And when I had dreamed my dream there she was!
I awoke and came swiftly.
She took me by the hand.
I heard the stars singing as I came in.
I felt warm wings about me.
We passed the beasts of the jungle.
Came through the dark, deep waters.
It was a long journey we completed together.
She never explains anything...
Although it probably wouldn't be anything I could comprehend.
She will be my friend until my end.
"Where is your home" I ask and often wonder.
"I am at home" she says "wherever I am."
