Watching the Rain
We look outside from our dusty, White, plastered window
Into the dark, gray, cloudy sky.
We sit on our knees
Wondering when the first drop will
Hit the dry, dirty, cracked streets
We watch from our stance
As people race worriedly into their
Homes
Destined to avoid being pounded on
By the rain.
When the streets are clear
And the sidewalks are pedestrian Free
The rain starts to sprinkle
From the shimmering, silver-lining
Clouds.
People start to appear
At their window
Their dusty, white, plastered Window
Sitting on their knees
Watching the rain.
