Not Speaking
So now I'm speeding down the highway
Watching the trees become a blur
A mass of pine and wood
And I think about the days spent
In your apartment that summer
Those walls would ache and collectively sigh
As the days drained down into darkness
Concealing the shapes of you and I
Not speaking about everything until the sun came up
Then you had to go to your job down the road
And I had to be at my nine thirty class
So now I'm speeding down the highway
Watching the trees become a blur
A mass of pine and wood
