This is a truth
that applies to the human race,
yet to no particular race of men:
You never really understand a person,
until you consider things from his point of view,
climb inside of his skin,
and walk around in it.
One thing that doesn't abide,
by majority rule;
a person's conscience.
It was times like these
When;
you rarely win,
only children weep,
the dead bury the dead,
one does not love breathing,
and there’s just one kind of folks:
folks.
I don't pretend to understand,
Why reasonable people,
go stark raving mad,
simply because they're still human;
that the one place,
where a man ought to get a square deal,
is in a courtroom,
be he any color of the rainbow.
It was times like these,
That,
food comes with death,
flowers with sickness,
and little things in between;
two soap dolls,
a broken watch and chain,
a pair of good-luck pennies,
and our lives.
It made me sad.
Yet delete the adjectives,
and I'd have the facts;
it's a sin to kill a mockingbird.

Rap Poem To Kill A Mockingbird They live in Maycomb County No they didn't start out frowny There's Jem, Dill, and Scout One day they went out Late at night When they were out of sight There was a lynch Defeated by Mr. Finch There was Calpurnia the maid That taught Scout many things like not to fade When the Robinson case broke out The Finch's had hope but their was no doubt That they would lose This was something even they couldn't choose The killing of a mockingbird Would not be heard For it was a sin And Aunt Alexandra was the kin She would visit at a rare When she did it was a scare The book was written from the point of Scout Though she was young she did not pout She learned things like not to shout She put herself in Boo's shoes And thought of the things she wished she didn't do Like playing in her front yard with Jem, and Dill too Things didn't always go their way But hey She learned that it's part of life With that she wouldn't think twice

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

I love this poem. I like how you took different quotes from the book and re-arranged them. That was smart and it makes sense still.

Great word choice! I'm reading this book right now, and this is pitch perfect.

Isn't it ironic? We ignore the ones who adore us, adore the ones who ignore us, love the ones who hurt us, and hurt the ones that love us.

I've never read the book, but this is still a great poem.

No one is your strength or guidance. If life is what you wish to live then do not bind your soul to something unreal. The creater nor the keeper can heal you for it is blind faith that leads you.

This is amazing!!!! Congrats on this!!!
