Ode to a Sanctum
After Ode to the Boom Box
Returning to a quiet place,
Where I store myself,
and let myself remain.
A home is often unseen
as a refuge from chaos.
A safe haven of comfort and heaven.
You say
“I wish I could go home,”
Overlooking its humble charm.
I say
“I wish I could go home,”
Wanting to embrace its serenity.
There is no school alarm or angry manager
To disturb me in my moment.
I met back with my dog.
Now it can just be us two,
Resting in peace.
