As I wandered through your fences and fields, among those vibrant flowers your almost concealed. I wrap my fingers carefully around, silent as a shadow I didn’t make a sound. No matter how delicate, I bruise your glass wings not knowing this damage a song I sing. Caged in my grip like bars locked tight, you start to worry one small fleeting teardrop and your vision gets blurry. Blinded you don’t know where your flying now, wings can only expand as my grip will allow. Starting to realize you’re unable to fly, this spirit between us starts to die. Your looking into distorted mirrors, the once glowing light you cannot see, and the touch of the wind now no more than a memory. If only you would have known I was on my wayWould you have turned and flown away? If only your screams I could hear, those fences between us would never have disappeared. But I watch you fade with only a flutter and a sigh. Please wait. I cant say goodbye to my butterfly
