The Solution
The Solution
They say that if the meaning in its life loses its value
Then you must use others to seek that help
However they never address how finding help
It may be easy to those who dont need it
But it is a battle for those who are trying to find it.
After all how are you supposed to fix what's broken
When the tool used to fix it is broken itself
They assign counselers who dont understand
Therapy that doesint work
Take deep breaths
Find what makes you happy
Talk out your problems
One of the problems that I have already found is that
The solution itself is broken
They throw these words around as if deep breaths can fix a broken heart
As if happiness can override depression
As if telling others about my problems is infact the solution I never knew I needed
But these methods used to heal our broken sides
Are flawed
Because as they tell me
That happiness can override depression
That talking can solve my problems
That Medication is my solution
I find myself walking closer and closer to the edge of this cliff
Created and brought upon by their own false assumptions
Because talking to therapists that don't understand your struggle
Consulting in the happiness that you can never seem to find
Seems like help to those who do not need it
But damages those who have supposedly found it.
I talk to these therapists
And I take these meds
But they only push me closer to the dark impulses inside my heart
So since their methods of approval do not help this darkness inside me
I find my own solutions to these problems I face
The cuts on my wrists
Scabs on my legs
Sunken in eyes and think sickly body
These are my solution to these problems
But my solution is another problem for those who don't need solutions
The solution to the problem of my answer is a mental hospital built with clean white walls
Their solution to bringing me closer to happiness is taking it away
It's for your own good
You will feel better
It's a welcoming place
But when you put a mentally ill person in a place where everyone is mentally ill
It only worsens the reality of the pain life can really hold
Every person I see leave the confines of this prison-like home
Comes right back like magnets to metal
We orbit these mental afflictions surrounded by the reminder that we are unusual
Why can't they simply remind us that we are not alone?
When they say that 30% of the population suffers from crippling anxiety you would think we would have a better way to treat it than with words
A better way to prevent it than with happiness
A better way to stop it than with hospitals built off the broken parts of others
However, I find that within my broken mind, there is a broken world out there as well
So the question I have for you, for the people who try to get me to
Smile
Breathe
Talk
When…are you ever going to start realizing that doesint work?
Instead of addressing the problem, are you going to get up and find a real solution?
