A Dark Night Sky
The dark night sky beams down on the peaceful ocean
Every wave crashing down, fizzling on the hot sand
Crabs and seagulls appear from behind the wet, cold rocks
They fight each other, snapping and poking for whatever scraps are left
A man and woman on a boat, using the white light from above
The water gleaming with excitement at the presence of the moon’s reflection
Making every movement, every ripple of water defined
But as the sun rises and the people charge in and throw down their towels
Everything stops.
Chaos occurs, but the moon is the one looking down
Waiting to come out again expressing serenity
