Is It Really Worth It?

He wakes up early in the morning to go to school
As he labors over his work he wonders,
Is this really worth it?
He gets to his house after a tiring day at school
Only to come home to a couple hours worth of homework
As he toils for what seems like an eternity he wonders,
Is this really worth it?
When he finishes his homework
He leaves for his classes
As he listens to the endless and monotonous drone of the instructor he wonders,
Is this really worth it?
Finally, when all his work is over he sits back
An odd feeling of…satisfaction comes into him
He thinks to himself,
Was that really worth it?
Yes, it was.

I tried to structure this set piece as a poem to show that the feeling of satisfaction at the end of the day, knowing that all the work is over, is worth all the effort. I used repetition of the phrase “Is it really worth it” to get my point across more clearly. My favorite part is at the end, when he realizes that the effort he put in isn’t going to waste.
