The clatter of the sled
Clatter, Clatter, Clatter
Wood against metal against snow
Clatter, Clatter, Clatter
Down the great hill we go
Take the turn slowly
Hands grip the wood
Gliding down softly
So far all is good
The sound of the pavement scrapeing the sled
The sound of the sliding of snow
The sound of the sled clattering on
The sound of us ready to go
At the top of the mountain
We look down on our fate
Hoping our sled
Will fly true and fly straight
Hands grip the handlebars
Eyes look ahead
Fears are forgotten
We cling fast to our sled
Down we now plummet
Quick through snow
Lean left then lean right
Now faster we go
The sound of the runners scraping the ice
The sound of the wind rushing by
The sound of the sled clattering on
The sound of us yelling till dry
Now we have left the hill
Gliding on faster
Yet we are racing still
On to disaster
Into the woods we fly
Crashing through the snow
Our ride is almost done
And yet still on we go
We ram into the spotless white
Our speed has waved goodbye
We tumble off our trusty steed
And in the snow we lie
The sound of the silence filling the sky
The sound of the now solid floor
The sound of the sled stopped now at last
The sound of us yelling for more

This poem was written in memory of last years amazing sledding track that me and my brothers made.
