Hillary
Embracing the crux of womanhood,
Sought you to demonstrate what many women could not;
We are stronger united than we are far apart.
You strove to give women a voice of their own,
Apart from that of their husbands or sons,
And you alone succeeded.
Showing love to all who beckoned for your aid,
You tried to meet their every need,
Campaigning for truth, honor, and peace.
When the world of man goes asunder,
And life as we know it goes steadily under,
You may not be there to hold our heads high.
Above us, keeping eye on all below,
You help us remain as a whole
By holding us together through common values.
Your teachings, your love, your everlasting memory:
Those things alone, we hope to carry
With us, until a new dawn breaks.
