I Love You, Too
The brush and the brambles,
Oh how they tear!
As I try to escape,
These chains that I wear.
I run through the forest,
Scared but alive,
As I hear voices behind me.
I hope I survive!
They said I’d be safe,
That I would have a home.
But a world without you?
I cannot live alone.
I wish I could tell you,
How hard I have tried!
“But I cannot get away!,”
I think as I cry.
As the voices close in,
And my world goes dark.
I almost hear your voice,
Speaking to my heart…
“I love you, too.”
