We Hope
Our chance comes,
And I run so fast.
With you by my side,
I know we can make it.
We must escape,
This life we live,
Because the abuse,
We just can’t take.
I hope and pray,
That we can be free;
Free from their lies,
And their walls.
We hide away,
So far away,
That they will never find us.
We hope.
The days are bright,
And the sun shines golden,
In the meadow.
But here they come…
We fight and we yell,
But who would notice?
They are our fathers,
Our Gods.
They carry us back,
To the life we fled,
Only to make us,
A profound example.
They’ve tied up our hands,
And my breath comes shallow,
As we say goodbye,
And I sing my sweet lullaby.
Don’t be afraid,
There’ll be a new day,
So full of hope,
And so full of faith.
So just hold on tight,
We’ll make it through the night.
Just take my hand,
Because we’re on our way.
