Night Dance
The sweet open air,
Dances and sweeps,
Across rolling hills,
And dusky forests,
And plays on my fingertips.
The milky moon peers down,
With her pockmarked face,
Which has seen the days,
Of a thousand years,
And more.
Whomever could capture,
The secrets of the moon,
Would hold such power,
As the world has never known;
And never shall.
The faces of the past,
Illuminated by the wondrous moon
Smile down upon me,
As I dance through the liquid beauty,
Of the untamed night.
