In the Night
The screams pierce my ears
It goes on for days and years
I am struggling with these fears
Jackets cover the marks
Even when I’m alone in the dark
Life sits there and mocks my heart
My face shows none of my pain
My laughs they are all in vain
Within my soul there is nothing to gain
My soul is trapped unable to be set free
I am stuck rooted here like a tree
I sit and hope someone will rescue me
The screams still pierce my ears
It will go on for days even years
So I sit here and hide my tears
