Good Morning, Beautiful
Tossing and turning,
Clutching the covers,
Wanting morning to go away.
Rolling over the bed,
I answer the phone,
“Good morning, Beautiful”, you say.
My roaring yawn turns into a smile,
Your soothing voice graces my ear,
It gives me motivation to start the day.
“How’d you sleep?”
“What should I wear?”
My morning grumpiness has no room to stay.
You are my sun rising,
Birds chirping,
A ray of hope,
A new beginning.
