Alone Together
Walking along the path I know
I saw you there, standing alone,
Your eyes so bright,
Like the sparkling dew.
I could see only you, and suddenly I knew
That I could not continue,
For the path ahead forked
But to where, I knew not.
‘A choice must be made,’
I thought to myself,
And somehow I understood
That you would follow.
I found myself weighing
The consequences of the paths ahead,
But there were so many,
And various more unforeseen.
So I chose with care,
And proceeded with caution,
With your arm guiding me forward
To a future I knew nothing of.
I reflect on this moment,
So clear and so shining,
As my choice, my path to the future,
Was chosen alone but traveled together.
