I Remember
I listen to your words
from across the room
Because you never speak
directly to me
But when you do,
Everytime you ever have,
I remember
as if your words were oxygen,
and without them i couldn't breathe
When you say my name,
I remember the way you say it
every syllable
I remember you nicknames for me
I remember when you barely knew me
when i barely knew you
I remember the first time we spoke
The first time
i ever realized we had a chance
The first time i realized
my chance was gone
I remember when
we were finally what
i was willing to settle for...
friends
And i remember when one of your friends spilled your secret...
you still liked me
Star-crossed?
Who's to say?
Only time will enforce our future
The pressure
Time is running out
for our time together
For soon
we will be separated by distance,
but never by heart
At least that's what my head says
When my heart doesn't know
how much longer it can go,
with words
divided by barriers of days
Yes, i remember everything
And the heartache tone
my heart sings.
