ITS KIND OF FUN TO DO THE IMPOSSIBLE

TRAPPED IN THE HOUSE DOING NOTHING

AND COMPLAINING HOWS EVERYTHING WRONG

MY MIND WASN’T AS CLEAR BEFORE

& NEITHER WAS IT STRONG

THE LITTLE VOICE INSIDE MY HEAD

HAD LEFT ME IN DESPAIR

WHEN I WASN’T WORKING ON MY DREAMS

I DIDN’T FEEL FAIR

THERE ARE TIMES VERY OFTEN WHEN

I FEEL VERY INSPIRED

I SAY “I’M GONNA DO IT!”

MY WILL IS SET ON FIRE

BUT OH! THE DOUBT AND THE BLUES

SWEEP ME AGAIN

THEY SET ME UP TO FAIL

BEFORE I EVEN BEGIN

THE TEMPORARY PLEASURES JUST

COST ME A LOT

I WAS DROWN IN REGRET THAT

I DIDN’T GAVE A SHOT!

I DIDN’T KNEW BEFORE BUT

I DO KNOW NOW

THAT MASTERING THE MOMENT

LIFE IS ALL ABOUT

The author's comments:

This poem resembles the thoughts going through the mind of a teenager when they have to choose between what they want to do VS. what needs to be done. It especially applies to those who wish to pursue a goal but obviously can’t because the ‘Badass villain’ named PROCRASTINATION kicks in every damn time!
