Contract MAG
We write out our hearts
In folded love letters,
And we sign them
Like emotional contracts.
“Forever,” they'll write.
“Always,” you'll reply.
Never ending, you think,
As if it were meant to be.
Then the last letter comes
And it brings you to a halt –
Giving your contracted heart
A dotted “i” and crossed “t” jolt.
The contract is coming to an end
While you search for paper and pen
In hopes to revive what's dead,
But your pen's ink has gone
And all that you write is “Love”
