Such is Life
I don’t think the fluffy vapors know,
As they release water to plummet the world,
sustaining flora and crop,
that it casts a heartrending gloominess
on the humans in the vicinity.
Everything miraculous is a double-edged sword…
I don’t think the clocks know,
As they unbolt the gate, allowing for
us to walk the threshold of the future,
that it solidifies the actions we can’t undo
that are forever frozen in the past.
Everything miraculous is a double-edged sword…
I don’t think the planets know,
As they orbit the flaming ball
shedding light onto their surface,
That it leaves the lightless sides,
Fuming in forgotten darkness.
Everything miraculous is a double-edged sword…
I don’t think the lovers know,
As they hold each other,
sharing warmth, embracing fate.
That so many souls without a mate,
Seek, in icy envy, that same heat.
Everything miraculous is a double-edged sword…
I don’t think the “holy ones” know,
As they tread a path of service to God
Impervious to sin and temptation
That Lucifer was once a pure angel
Now dwelling beneath this human plane.
I admit to making a tooth a joint.
I exaggerated to make my point.
And although they may not know
that good things make the bad things grow
And great miracles make our mortal strife
We have to accept it, such is life.
