Fall Time in Connecticut
You could smell the sweet odor from the kitchen.
Mama is cooking fresh apple pie and pumpkin bread.
You move your sight the to orange, red and brown outside your window.
The leaves swirl around catching the wind for a quick ride.
The grass may have died but you’ll see the green in the spring.
You step outside while munching on a freshly picked apple.
The cold air rushes over your body sending an exciting shiver through your spine.
You smile and leap into a recent raked pile of leaves.
The whole time knowing,
It’s fall time in Connecticut.
