The Ideal Death of Emily Dickinson
Pensively, the abyss looks into me;
It’s face mirrors my gloomed disposition.
While opening it’s mouth to the black sea,
It spoke of a silent proposition.
Do I take the offer with the cruel vice,
Of knowledge that this life had not yet thrived?
Or do I consider my actions twice,
And take one last shot at a life deprived?
For I choked it tell its face flushed with blue,
While it shirked an uncontrollable cry,
“It’s just the body bear the same fate too;
A life for a life, an eye for an eye!”
So I turned my back to the oceans call;
Turned round once again and stepped off the wall.
