Threadbare Hearts
The thread of our love
is thick
And yet unwoven
You have used it
Once to many
as a sheild against the forces
And as the cold
rips and tears
Our hearts
become threadbare
As you rest your head
Upon the well-used sheet
there is an impression
left by your soul
A feeling
The feeling of what we once were,
is imprisoned
in the threads of our hearts
And
as each thread is worn
A heartstring is torn
I am left threadbare
imprisoned in the fine unravelings
of what is left
