Incomplete
Some will tell their loves, "I was never complete without you."
But I was.
My heart was perfect, complete.
I wasn't looking,
I wasn't searching,
Yet somehow I found you,
My little piece of serendipity.
Like cement, you molded yourself around my heart.
If I were smarter, I would have pulled away while you were still wet and easily removed.
But I didn't know better.
I never imagined it would hurt this much.
But, sure enough, when you left and chiseled yourself from my heart,
There was no choice but to take part of myself along with you.
Now I know what it feels like to be incomplete.
