"Away"
I took this photograph a few months ago on a cloudless evening day, a few days after my grandfather passed away. That week was extremely hard on me because my grandfather was the one who gave me my first camera, and he encouraged me to express my emotions through photography. I wanted to escape and get away from all the complications and loose ends in my life. I did not have the courage to confront my problems. This artwork received a Gold Key in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in 2017. This image has a deeper meaning to me, and I hope that anyone who views this photo will be inspired and find their own way to connect to the story told in this photograph.
