The taste of Characters part 3: mortal frenimies
villain or hero, young or old, characters need friends.
When making friends for your characters, PLEASE think of this rule: NO CLECH'E. There is nothing more boring than a stereotype.
Make your characters mysterious and changing. Have a geek preform some judo on a bunch of grade A+ quarterbacks, if you have to!
If you're trying to make a friend for your hero, try gathering inspiration from your friends, or your friend's friends. The same advice goes for your villain.
But rule number two: Never have exact clones of a person you know. It's not very smart, and you'll want to live to write an apology.
