Gay people are one of the most discriminated groups in history. It was illegal to be openly gay until 2000 and it is still only illegal in 15 states. The first to allow marriage was Massachusetts however the first state to allow a civil union was Vermont. A civil union is “a legally recognized union of a same-sex couple. With rights similar to those of marriage”. In a civil union the only thing different is that you are not considered married? Now you probably think that that’s not so bad but the thing is that if your partner is dying or s/he is injured you can get kicked out of the hospital because you are not part of the family and you’re not considered the spouse of the patient. So you can’t be with your partner when s/he is dying (this is only in a civil union. If it is a marriage you can still got to the hospital and you would be considered a spouse of the patent.

The people who are trying to keep gay marriage illegal are the people who are so devoted to the words of their religion that if they see a group of people trying to express their love for one another that is against what they believe they will instantly try to treat them a second class citizens and try to make them feel bad about who they are. The anti-gays are full of hate and are saying that “God hates f***” and that they will go to hell just because they are expressing their love for one another, is in my opinion insane. “If you preach hate at the service those aren’t anointed, that holy water they you in soaked has been poisoned”- Macklemore. But that exactly what the anti- gays are doing.

This is a story of the first same sex couples to be married in utah: Seth and I were at work when an attorney friend texted us to tell us that Judge Shelby had declared Utah Constitutional Amendment 3 unconstitutional. I was in disbelief. But we hopped in the car and drove to the county clerk’s. The light was too slow, I literally jumped out of the car and ran across lanes of traffic to get into the office. At first, the clerks thought we were there to do civil disobedience. She said, “The state of Utah does not recognize same sex couples.” I told her, “Haven’t you heard the good news?” She called her supervisor, and they called in the district attorney. And after a meeting, they came out and told Seth and I that we could get a license. That’s when I started bawling.” The first people to get married in utah was Michael Ferguson and Seth Anderson.

I realize now that i have been saying “ gays” like they are there own group of people. but in reality they are just like you and me. People can classify a group of people by just some little stereotypes like one thing that I hear a lot is that you are gay if you have a high voice. But having a high voice can mean many things he could have a voice Disorder or somthing other. And there’s a lot of different stereotypes, clothing, voice, attitude, interests. For instance in that show Project Runway it is something that screams stereotypes. The guys on the show have outrageous hair and wear some insane clothing. And i know some people who are gay and they are like any other person some of them have the high pitched voice but they don't wear clothing that is outrageous they wear clothing like you and me they are no different.
One of the leading causes of teen suicide is dealing with bisexualty or homosexuality in an unsupportive community. So if we help to make everybody accept that there are people out there that are ga out there the suicide rate in teens would go down a lot.

Imagine if you were gay.

Hate.

Unacceptance.
living with the world against you.
That would be so hard to live with.but this is what some people who are Bysexual are delling with. Just knowing that your family might not support you when you need them most is heartbreaking. you wouldn't know where to turn.

Hate, Unacceptance, pain. It almost feels like the anti-bysexuals are like the kindergarden bully. Picking on someone who is different. And its not a big difference either. But it is still a difference. I leave you with the words of Macklemore:
“ When everyone else is more comfortable remaining voiceless

Rather than fighting for humans that have had their rights stolen

I might not be the same, but that's not important

No freedom till we're equal, damn right I support it.”
