#stopasianhate
I was born and raised here in America. I live here, like many of you. I go to school here, like many of you. I have friends and family here, like many of you.
I am also Asian. Does my face or my skin color render all the previous statements null? Just because I am not white, does that mean I am not human?
Does any human deserve to be the black-and-blue bruised and battered victims of racism and discrimination? Does any human deserve to be attacked for no reason?
Does an elderly man deserve to be attacked when he is simply taking his usual morning walk? Does a woman deserve to be attacked when she is just walking home from a trip to a grocery store?
I am American. I am Asian. And we are human. We should not have to suffer at the hands of xenophobia. No one should.
