Stop Animal Testing
Fight Against Animal Testing
Did you know on average 300,000 animals per year are used in experimentation, testing, and teaching in New Zealand? from farm animals to domesticated animals to exotic animals, they are abused and experimented on such as being scorched, hit, poisoned, blinded, and force-fed. We should not allow animal testing because it is cruel, disgusting, and just plain out not right. Imagine walking into a building and strolling the halls, and you suddenly hear a noise as you pass by another corridor. You go back towards the hallway where you heard the noise and saw a room filled with animals in minute spaces, with filthy cages and no food. Think about how much pain those animals are in and how they have had no choice but to suffer. If you could be put into action, what would you do?
The First reason we should not Allow animal testing is because all of the cruel things it can do to the animals. Each year in the United States, an estimated 70 million animals are maimed, blinded, scalded, force-fed chemicals, genetically manipulated, and otherwise hurt and killed in the name of science, by private institutions, household product and cosmetics companies, government agencies, educational institutions, and scientific centers. We know from the pharmaceutical sector that 9 out of every 10 new drugs (92%) that appear safe and effective in animal tests turn out to be unsafe or ineffective in human clinical studies. If far more than half of medicine tested on animals does not work on humans, Then what is the point? We Already know multiple medicines, mixtures of medicines, and chemicals that will and will not work on Humans, so why not test what we know will not hurt humans, on humans?
Another reason we should not Allow animal testing is because Animals have feeling in them too. Picture this, If your Dog jumps off the couch and hurts himself, The dog will most likely let out a whimper. This is the same as a person. If a Person was walking down the stairs and hurt there foot, they would yell “Ouch!”. Humans and Animals both have feeling and emotion, so whats the difference? Just because Animals aren't as smart as Humans, it does not mean they deserve to be treated the way they are treated in testing labs. After the animal testing is finished on the animal, it is most likely euthanized. Over 100 Million animals a year are burned, crippled, and abused in US Labs.
Many Companies, such as Huggies, Banana Boat, and Neutrogena Still today test their Products on animals. Even Cosmetic companies such as, Mac, Covergirl, Smashbox, and Sally’s beauty supply test on animals. MAC’s Parent company, Estee Lauder, tests all of the Ingredients used by Mac and themselves on animals. Luckily, another Cosmetics company named Lush, Is fighting against animal testing. The Owners of Lush have been fighting animal testing for over 30 years and even before they started their company. Imagine seeing people actually testing their products and ingredients on animals. Would you think again about buying their product?
Some people think animal testing is ok because they don’t care about animals as much as Human beings. People also may think it would just be a waste to test humans considering we are the biggest inventors. In some peoples opinion, Animals can mean more to someone than other Humans, and that Humans and animals should have the same rights. During experiments, some animals are given medicine so that they don’t feel pain or distress, but thousands are not. The thousands that are not put on medicine suffer and can't do anything about it. Either way, put on medicine or not, Both animals will still suffer under some circumstance.
Animal Testing is absurd, horrible, and not right. From animals being force fed to being put to death, what makes this right? If we tested on Humans, we would surely not force someone to do something, so what makes it ok to do this to animals? Next time buying a new product, consider researching if they test their products on animals and help support animal rights. Now that you have seen what actually goes on inside animal testing buildings, will you think twice about your decision? Stand up for animals rights.
