The other day, I was thinking.Yes I bet you're thinking 'Right? It is a thing most people do' It came to my mind, how many of us dream of being something amazing when we're younger. I'm sure, I'm not alone in saying that many of us wanted to be an amazing, new, popstar. Famous, rich dancer. Stunning, popular model. I do not doubt that these are all things many young girls, dreamed about being and many probably still do. However, this only bought the fact to my mind about just how many of us grow up to be just a normal, regular adult, who goes to work everyday to pay the bills, cleans the house, just normal. I mean don't get me wrong, dreaming is great, it stimulates the brain. But, children are being brought up to the regular saying of 'you can be anything you want to be' but this is just making me question how much truth is in this saying that children are constantly hearing. I'm not saying that no child, is good enough to be any of these amazing ideas they get; but just how many of them are going to be disappointed, when they approach adulthood and get told they can't be the disney princess they always dreamed of? I'm not suggesting we should tell our kids to stop dreaming, be realistic and get a grip on reality. But, maybe to not fool our kids into believing they can do, absolutely anything when they're older as how many are actually going to have this job? Not to say, I haven't ever dreamed of having a spectacular, well paid job and not to mention that I want to be a scientist (bio-chemist) when I'm older and as if this isn't going to be hard. I know it's going to be hard, and not going to question how long I'm going to have to study at university. But I have a passion for Science, and do hope that one day my dream, will be reality but at this moment looks like I'm going to keep dreaming, like the rest of the children who got told, they can be anything.

I didn't get inspired as such, but was thinking about this. I hope people get the message that, we can tell a child as much as we like, that they can be anything they want to. But it will not be our faults when they are disappointed later in life.
