Stars MAG
Stars
I looked out the window and what did I see?
A solitary star, all bright and shiny.
Next to it appeared another, another, and more;
I had no idea for me what was in store.
A cosmic circus right before my eyes,
Billions of stars glittering in the skies.
But my attention kept shifting to that one lonely star;
the brightest of stars so far, so very far.
Billions of light years, I imagined, did it gleam;
I wonder for it, how far do I seem?
When he looks down at Earth, what do his eyes behold?
Does he see all the people, the young and the old;
The red and the yellow, the black and the white;
Do his eyes even separate these people on sight?
Does he care what we look like? The color of our skin?
If not I believe we should be more like him;
We should take his example, follow his lead,
for did not all people come from the same seed?
Brothers and sister we are, every one of us;
Not unlike all the stars in the cosmic circus.
