Project Support
One amazing experience for me is Project Support. This activity has taught me many things. Project Support is a group of people that help out and play with kids that have special needs. I first learned about this opportunity when my friend Jake started going there. I knew that there were kids differently abled than us, and I wanted to help.
I’m not making a huge change in the world, but I’m making a change for Bijan. Bijan is one person who we help with. He has Aspergers, and he is an amazing boy. When we play basketball with him, I love seeing his smile when he shoots the ball. His laugh makes everyone feel happy and safe. He has taught me many things, such as anybody can help. All I had to do was register at Project Support, and a small smile from Bijan makes anyone happy.
I do this because I am helping those who are differently abled. He didn’t choose to have this disability. This is important to me because I love doing this. Every time I walk down to that room and greet him, I can’t wait to do something with him. This has changed the way I see the world. He’s not the only one like this, and anybody has the opportunity to help him.
Thank you, Bijan.
