Breath and Blood
These are the things I no longer wish to understand.
Love. I have felt the cold breath of love in my lungs. The breath that starts simply enough... a look, a touch, a word, that - against your better judgement - causes you to inhale. It travels to your heart. Fills it. Heals it. Keeps it beating. The heart changes that cold breath into something warmer, something deeper, before sending it off to consume every crevice of your body. You relish in the feeling it gives you... that feeling of completeness.
Thats when the exhale process begins. First, it retreats from the tips of your fingers and toes, and keeps going until the absence of it chills you to the core. The warmth that was once a comfort to you is gone. It isn't coming back. The next thing it leaves is the heart, which can only survive for a short time without it. After this, it travels back up, exiting your being in one final, complete, warm cloud of toxicity.
