My First Day at Middle School
It was the end of the school day, and all the fifth graders were gathering in the GLC to listen to a very important presentation about middle chool and what we can expect from it. They explained the four different electives: Band, Orchestra, Choir, and Exploratory Wheel. They also told us about the different clubs and how to make your own club and that it is recommended to bring your own lunch to school because of the long lunch lines. But I didn’t see this as a problem because I thought it would similar to the Regnart lunch lines. At the end of the presentation we all received an elective card and a sheet explaining what you will be doing if you choose the elective I looked at the paper in the classroom for a brief moment then packed my things and walked home. When I reached my house I walked on to my front porch and rang the doorbell my dad opened the door and welcomed me inside. After I ate lunch I went into my workroom to do my homework when I finally finished my homework it was about six o’clock I left the the workroom and turned off the lights and went to my bedroom to rummaged through my back to get my elective card when I found I thought about what elective I wanted. My friend once told that Exploratory Wheel was boring and that you don’t do much in it and that I shouldn’t do it. I looked at the other electives and thought about what kind of experience I would have if I chose this elective I thought I had a good singing voice but I already sang before in music class and I wanted to do something different. For Orchestra I thought I struggle with playing a string instrument so I chose band and got my parents to sign it and turned it into the teacher the next day. Before the final day of summer vacation my dad woke me up and told to get ready to go to orientation so I got up, put on my clothes ,got on my bike, and rode to school. When I reached school I got off my bike and and walked it to the bike rack and locked it. Then I followed some people to the GYM and walked inside. There was loud music playing inside and it was very crowded as I walked around I saw my friend Ditto who was a WEB leader I decided to go and scare him. I creeped toward him when I got right behind him I stood there waiting for him to turn around. After five seconds he turned around and let out a loud girly scream. As soon as he screamed I began laughing hysterically my friend laughed as well but wasn’t as hard as I laughed. When I calmed down Ditto told me that he was my WEB leader and if I wanted to entertain myself there were some games around the GYM that I could play. After staring at one of the games for some time the music abruptly stopped and the P.E teachers told all of us to sit down in rows. Once we were all seated they began talking about the P.E uniforms and where we can buy them and how long they will be on sale after they finished they got us into our WEB groups and we all left the GYM and went into one of the classrooms where we sat in a circle and played games and asked questions to get to know each other. We also received a folder filled with paperwork, my planner, my schedule, and some cool stuff that we get to bring home and when the school day ended we were all dismissed. I went to the bike rack to unlock my bike and go home but there was problem I didn’t have a place to put my folder so I began looking at my bike to see if there was anything on my bike that could hold it while I bike. I decided to put it between the brake wires and it worked out fine. My great idea wasn’t so great as I thought and the ride home was very frustrating and I had to constantly stop and put it back into place. When I was almost at my house when I suddenly scrapped the side of a tree and fell over with my bike on top of me as I laid there under my bike I tried to get up but I was too in pain to lift the bike off of me but luckily a nice family stopped and one of them got out to help me up they asked me if I was okay and I said, “Yes I’m fine, thank you” when they left I walked my bike back to my house my dad opened the door and I stepped inside and placed the folder on my dad’s desk and walked over to the medicine cabinet and got myself a band-aid.
