I Believe I Can Fly
I quickly rushed into the car because today was the day I was going to the Nike Outlet. Now, the Nike Outlet isn’t just some store, no the Nike Outlet is the sport store of all sports stores. This phenomenal store was where I got my first pair of basketball shoes. I remember walking up to the doors, gliding into the store and instantly, the aroma of new cloth’s and new shoes filled my nose. I slowly made my way to the shoe section and it wasn’t love at first sight. I saw them and thought, “This is it?! These are the shoes everyone’s talking about?!” They looked so uncomfortable! So repulsive and distasteful and I was the one who had to wear them. My dad consistently told me, “They’re great shoes, They’re great shoes.” Of course I didn’t believe him! “It’s easy for him,” I quietly thought to myself “he isn’t the one that’s going to be the laughing stock of the whole basketball team.” After a lot of coaxing, I finally tried on the shoes. I have never felt more comfortable in all my life! These shoes, that I thought were the most unpalatable things on the planet, turned out to be a whole life changer for me. I put them on in my first game and suddenly, I felt like I could fly!
